Why this guide exists
The Komodo National Park ticket system became foreign-tourist-hostile in 2026. Indonesia rolled out a mandatory online booking platform that the Indonesian government runs entirely in Bahasa Indonesia, with a payment gateway that rejects most foreign credit cards, no English documentation, and a 1,000-visitor daily cap that frequently sells out before foreign tourists even realize they need to book. Our editorial team in Labuan Bajo decided to fix this — first by translating every step into clear English, then by offering optional booking-handled trip packages where our local team handles the entire system on the visitors behalf.
