Category 1: About Komodo NP booking platform

What is Komodo NP booking platform?

Komodo NP booking platform (Sistem Online Reservasi Wisata) is Indonesia’s mandatory online ticketing platform for Komodo National Park, launched mid-2026 by Balai Taman Nasional Komodo (BTNK). It handles visitor registration, fee payment, and QR-code entry at every island and jetty in the park. Foreign and domestic visitors must complete a Komodo NP online booking before arrival. See our complete Komodo NP booking platform guide for the full overview.

When did Komodo NP booking platform launch?

Komodo NP booking platform was launched in mid-2026 by BTNK as the replacement for in-person ticket booths and earlier paper-based registration systems. The platform consolidates entrance fees, conservation surcharges, ranger services, and jetty fees into a single QR-coded transaction. For the official launch context, see tnkomodo.id.

Is Komodo NP booking platform mandatory for all visitors?

Yes. Komodo NP booking platform is mandatory for all visitors entering Komodo National Park, including foreign tourists, domestic Indonesian visitors, divers, day-trippers, and overnight liveaboard guests. Rangers verify QR codes at every jetty and island entry point. There is no walk-up ticket option. Plan ahead via our Komodo ticket guide.

What does Komodo NP booking platform replace?

Komodo NP booking platform replaces the previous combination of in-person ticket counters at Labuan Bajo jetties, paper conservation-fee receipts, and manual ranger registration logs. Before Komodo NP booking platform, visitors paid multiple fees separately on arrival, sometimes in cash. The new platform consolidates everything into a single online transaction with one QR code.

Is Komodo NP booking platform an app or a website?

Komodo NP booking platform is available as both a mobile app (iOS and Android) and a web platform at siora.id. Most foreign visitors find the web platform easier because it accepts a wider range of international payment methods and does not require an Indonesian phone number for verification.

What languages does Komodo NP booking platform support?

Komodo NP booking platform officially supports Bahasa Indonesia and English. The English translation is functional but incomplete in some sections, particularly payment confirmation screens and refund flows. Our Komodo NP booking platform walkthrough provides English-language screenshots for every step.

Who do I contact if Komodo NP booking platform itself isn’t working?

For Komodo NP booking platform platform technical issues, contact BTNK directly through the support form at siora.id or visit tnkomodo.id for official channels. For help navigating Komodo NP booking platform as a foreign visitor, our team can assist with troubleshooting, screenshots, and payment workarounds.

Is komodonationalparkticket.com the same as siora.id?

No. komodonationalparkticket.com (this site) is an independent English-language travel guide operated by a Labuan Bajo team under Juara Holding. We are not affiliated with siora.id (the official BTNK platform) or with the Government of Indonesia. Read our About page for full disclosure on our editorial independence.

Category 2: Account & Registration

How do I download the Komodo NP booking app?

Download the Komodo NP booking app from the Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) by searching “Komodo National Park.” Confirm the publisher is BTNK or Balai Taman Nasional Komodo before installing. Alternatively, use the web platform at siora.id, which works without app installation. See our Komodo NP booking platform setup guide for screenshots.

How do I create a Komodo NP booking account?

On the Komodo NP booking app or siora.id, tap “Register,” enter your email, create a password, confirm via the email verification link, and complete your profile with full name (as on passport), nationality, and passport number. The process takes 5–10 minutes if your email confirmation arrives promptly.

What ID do foreigners use to register?

Foreign visitors use their passport number during Komodo NP online registration. Enter the passport number exactly as printed, including any leading letters. Indonesian citizens use their KTP (national ID) number. Have a clear photo or scan of your passport ready, as some payment flows request it.

What is the “Ship Owner” account type?

The “Ship Owner” (Pemilik Kapal) account type is reserved for licensed boat and liveaboard operators registering vessels and crew for Komodo National Park operations. Foreign visitors should not select this account type. Choose the standard “Visitor” (Wisatawan) account during registration.

Why isn’t my email confirmation arriving?

Email confirmations sometimes route to spam folders, particularly for Gmail and Yahoo accounts. Check spam, promotions, and updates folders. If confirmation does not arrive within 30 minutes, request a resend from the Komodo NP booking platform login screen, or have your booking handled by our team using our verified operator account.

Can I have multiple Komodo NP booking accounts?

Komodo NP booking platform technically allows multiple accounts per email domain but discourages it. Each account is linked to a passport number, so you cannot register the same passport on two active accounts. Most visitors only need one account for life, even across multiple Komodo trips.

Can I delete my Komodo NP booking account?

Account deletion is available through the Komodo NP booking platform support form at siora.id but the process is slow and undocumented in English. Indonesian data protection law (UU PDP 2022) gives you the right to request deletion. Our About page explains why we recommend keeping the account active for future trips.

Does Komodo NP booking platform store my passport data?

Yes, Komodo NP booking platform stores your passport number, nationality, and registration data on BTNK servers in compliance with Indonesian data protection regulations. The data is used for visitor tracking, conservation reporting, and ranger verification. Komodo NP booking platform does not share passport data with commercial partners.

Category 3: Booking & Payment

How early should I book my Komodo ticket?

Book at least 7 days before arrival during low season (February–May, October–November) and 30+ days before arrival during peak season (June–September, December–January). The 1,000 daily visitor quota fills fastest during June–August. See our quota guide for live availability tips.

What information do I need to book?

You need: passport number and nationality for every visitor, planned visit date, selected islands (Komodo, Rinca, Padar, Pink Beach), arrival time slot, and a working payment method. Have everyone’s passports ready before starting the booking, as the system times out after 15 minutes of inactivity.

Can I book multiple islands on one trip?

Yes. Komodo NP booking platform allows multi-island bookings on a single transaction, which is the standard format for typical day-trip itineraries covering Komodo Island, Padar Island, and Pink Beach. The platform calculates entrance and conservation fees for each island and consolidates them into one QR code. See our Komodo itinerary planner.

What payment methods are accepted?

Komodo NP booking platform accepts Indonesian bank transfers (BCA, Mandiri, BNI, BRI), QRIS, GoPay, OVO, ShopeePay, Visa, Mastercard, and JCB. Foreign-issued cards work but sometimes fail due to 3D Secure verification issues. Bank transfer from an Indonesian account is the most reliable method.

Why does my foreign credit card fail?

Foreign cards often fail Komodo NP booking platform’s 3D Secure (3DS) verification because the platform’s payment processor does not consistently support all international banks. Common workarounds: try a different card, switch to Visa from Mastercard (or vice versa), or have a licensed operator process payment on your behalf via our booking assistance.

Can a tour operator pay on my behalf?

Yes. Licensed Indonesian tour operators (including our affiliated operator) can complete Komodo NP online bookings and payments on behalf of foreign guests. The QR code is generated under the visitor’s passport, not the operator’s account, so it remains valid even if you part ways with the operator before arrival.

What happens if my payment is delayed?

Komodo NP booking platform holds your booking for 60 minutes after submission while awaiting payment confirmation. If payment is not received within that window, the booking auto-cancels and the inventory returns to the quota pool. You can re-attempt immediately. Bank transfers sometimes take 1–4 hours, especially across different Indonesian banks.

Can I modify my booking after payment?

Date changes and visitor additions are possible through the Komodo NP booking app’s “Manage Booking” section but only at least 48 hours before the visit date. Modifications within 48 hours require ranger approval at the jetty, which is rarely granted. See our refund and cancellation guide for details.

What if Komodo NP booking platform shows my booking as “Pending”?

A “Pending” status means Komodo NP booking platform has received your booking but not yet confirmed payment. Most pending bookings resolve within 60 minutes. If yours has been pending more than 4 hours, contact Komodo NP booking platform support at siora.id and have your transaction reference ready. Our team can also help escalate.

How do I download my Komodo NP booking platform ticket QR code?

After payment confirmation, log into Komodo NP booking platform, navigate to “My Bookings,” select your trip, and tap “Download QR.” Save the QR as a screenshot to your phone and email a backup to yourself. Rangers at the jetty scan the QR code directly from your phone screen; offline access is essential.

Category 4: Fees & Costs

How much does it cost to visit Komodo as a foreign tourist?

A typical foreign-visitor day trip covering Komodo Island, Padar, and Pink Beach costs approximately IDR 1,200,000–1,800,000 per person (USD 75–115) in Komodo NP booking platform fees alone, depending on weekday vs. weekend rates and ranger/jetty surcharges. This excludes boat transport, food, and operator service fees. See our complete fee breakdown.

What’s the difference between entrance, conservation, ranger, and jetty fees?

Entrance fee covers basic park access. Conservation fee funds BTNK habitat preservation. Ranger fee pays for the mandatory ranger guide on each island. Jetty fee covers harbor maintenance at Loh Liang, Loh Buaya, and other landing points. Komodo NP booking platform consolidates all four into one transaction.

Are weekend rates higher?

Yes. BTNK applies a weekend surcharge to entrance and conservation fees for visits on Saturdays, Sundays, and Indonesian public holidays. The surcharge is approximately 50% above weekday rates. Plan weekday visits when possible for both lower cost and smaller crowds.

Do children pay the same fees?

Children under 5 are typically exempt from entrance fees but still require a Komodo NP online registration for tracking. Children 5–17 pay reduced rates, generally 50% of adult fees. Conservation and ranger fees apply at full rate regardless of age. Have children’s passports ready during booking.

What’s the diving surcharge?

Certified scuba divers pay an additional dive surcharge of approximately IDR 200,000–300,000 per dive per person (USD 13–19) on top of standard park fees. This surcharge funds reef monitoring and dive-site maintenance. See our Komodo diving guide for site-specific information.

Are there discounts for students or seniors?

Komodo NP booking platform does not currently offer student or senior discounts for foreign visitors. Indonesian citizens with valid student ID or KTP showing age 60+ receive a domestic discount tier, but this does not extend to international travelers regardless of age or status.

Where does the conservation fee money go?

According to BTNK, conservation fees fund habitat preservation, dragon population monitoring, anti-poaching patrols, marine reef restoration, and visitor infrastructure maintenance. BTNK publishes annual reports on fund allocation at tnkomodo.id. Our About page details our conservation transparency reporting.

Why are Indonesian rates lower than foreign rates?

Two-tier pricing (lower for Indonesian citizens, higher for foreign visitors) is standard policy for Indonesian national parks and is consistent with practices in many countries (including Tanzania, Nepal, and Ecuador). The differential funds conservation while keeping the park accessible to Indonesian citizens whose tax revenue partially funds BTNK operations.

Category 5: Quotas & Timing

What is the 1,000 daily visitor quota?

BTNK enforces a 1,000-visitor-per-day quota across Komodo National Park to protect dragon habitats and reef ecosystems. The quota covers all foreign and domestic visitors combined. Once daily inventory is exhausted, no new Komodo NP online bookings are accepted for that date. See our quota strategy guide.

When do quotas fill the fastest?

Peak season (June–September and late December–early January) sees quotas filling 30–60 days in advance. Weekends and Indonesian public holidays fill fastest year-round. The slowest months are February, March, and November, when same-week bookings are usually available.

How do I check real-time quota?

Komodo NP booking platform displays remaining daily inventory at siora.id when you select your visit date during booking. There is no separate quota-monitoring page; you must begin the booking flow to see availability. Our team monitors quota daily and can advise on the best dates.

Can I book ahead during peak season?

Yes, and you should. During June–September, book your Komodo NP booking platform ticket 30–45 days in advance to secure your preferred date. Tickets are non-transferable to other people but can be modified to different dates (with 48-hour notice) if your plans change.

What if my preferred date is sold out?

If your preferred date is sold out, options are: (1) try adjacent weekdays, which often have inventory, (2) split your group across two consecutive days, (3) refresh Komodo NP booking platform twice daily because cancellations release inventory, or (4) contact our team for monitoring assistance.

Is the quota enforced strictly?

Yes. Rangers at every jetty scan QR codes against the Komodo NP booking platform database in real time. Without a valid QR code tied to that day’s quota, you cannot board a boat to the park. There are no exceptions, regardless of distance traveled or reason for the missing booking.

Category 6: Regulations & Safety

Do I need a ranger?

Yes. A licensed BTNK ranger is mandatory on Komodo, Rinca, and Padar Islands. The ranger fee is included in your Komodo NP online booking. Rangers carry forked sticks for dragon-safety distance and guide you on official trails. You cannot wander off-trail or visit the islands without a ranger.

Can I bring a drone?

Drone use in Komodo National Park requires advance permits from BTNK, granted only for documented research, journalism, or commercial filming. Recreational drone flying is prohibited. Penalties include drone confiscation and fines. Apply for permits through tnkomodo.id at least 30 days before arrival.

Are there single-use plastic restrictions?

Yes. Komodo National Park enforces a single-use plastic ban covering plastic bottles, straws, and food packaging. Visitors are searched at jetties and offenders fined. Bring a reusable bottle and refill from boat water tanks. Our conservation guide lists approved alternatives.

What’s the dragon safety distance?

The mandatory dragon safety distance is 5 meters from any Komodo dragon. Rangers enforce this with forked sticks and verbal warnings. Komodo dragons can run 20 km/h in short bursts and have venomous bites. Never attempt to feed, touch, or photograph at closer range, even for selfies.

What’s the diving certification required?

Recreational scuba diving in Komodo National Park requires a minimum PADI Open Water Diver certification (or equivalent). Advanced sites such as Batu Bolong and Castle Rock require Advanced Open Water plus 50+ logged dives due to strong currents. See our diving guide for site-by-site requirements.

Can children visit Komodo Island?

Yes, but with caveats. Children of any age can visit, but rangers strongly recommend Komodo Island and Rinca Island only for children aged 10 and older due to walking distance, heat exposure, and dragon-safety distance requirements. Pink Beach and Padar are family-friendly for all ages.

Is it safe to visit Komodo?

Komodo is generally safe when you follow ranger instructions and respect wildlife. The most common visitor injuries are heat exhaustion, dehydration, and minor falls on Padar’s volcanic terrain. Dragon attacks on visitors are extremely rare when 5-meter distance is maintained. Travel insurance is recommended.

What’s the penalty for breaking rules?

Penalties for violations (off-trail walking, drone flying without permit, harassing dragons, single-use plastic) range from on-site fines (IDR 500,000–5,000,000) to ejection from the park and, in severe cases, criminal charges. BTNK rangers have full enforcement authority within park boundaries.

Category 7: Logistics & Travel

How do I get to Labuan Bajo from Bali?

The fastest route is a 75-minute direct flight from Denpasar (DPS) to Labuan Bajo (LBJ) on Garuda, Wings Air, Lion Air, or Batik Air. Daily flights run from morning to late afternoon. Land-and-ferry alternatives exist via Lombok and Sumbawa but take 2–3 days. See our Bali to Labuan Bajo guide.

How long is the boat ride to the islands?

From Labuan Bajo harbor: 45 minutes to Rinca Island, 2.5 hours to Komodo Island, and 1.5 hours to Padar Island. Day trips covering all three plus Pink Beach run 10–12 hours total including snorkeling stops. Liveaboard trips (2–4 nights) cover the same plus dive sites without daily return.

Where should I stay in Labuan Bajo?

Labuan Bajo offers everything from hostels (IDR 200,000/night, USD 13) to luxury resorts (IDR 5,000,000+/night, USD 320+). Most visitors choose mid-range hotels along Jalan Sukarno-Hatta or hillside resorts near Plataran. See our Labuan Bajo accommodation guide.

Can I do Komodo in one day from Bali?

Technically yes, but not recommended. The earliest Denpasar–Labuan Bajo flight lands around 08:00, the latest return flight departs around 17:00, giving you a maximum of 7 hours on the water. You can visit one island (typically Rinca) but you will miss Padar viewpoint and Pink Beach. A 2-night minimum is strongly advised.

What’s the best time of year to visit?

April–June and September–October offer the best balance of dry weather, calm seas, and manageable crowds. July–August is peak season with the best weather but largest crowds and highest quotas. November–March is wet season with rougher seas; some operators suspend trips.

Should I worry about seasickness?

Seasickness is common on Komodo day trips, especially December–March when seas are rough. Take dimenhydrinate (Dramamine) or scopolamine patches 60 minutes before boarding. Sit toward the center and rear of the boat, look at the horizon, and avoid heavy meals before departure.

Category 8: Refunds, Cancellation & Issues

Can I get a refund if I cancel?

Komodo NP booking platform offers partial refunds for cancellations made at least 7 days before the visit date, with a 25% processing fee. Cancellations within 7 days are non-refundable except in force majeure cases. See our cancellation guide for full policy.

What qualifies as force majeure?

Force majeure includes documented natural disasters, BTNK-issued park closures, government-issued travel restrictions, and medical emergencies with hospital documentation. Personal travel changes, missed flights (without airline cancellation), and weather concerns generally do not qualify.

What if my flight is cancelled?

If your inbound flight to Labuan Bajo is officially cancelled by the airline, request a cancellation confirmation letter from the airline and submit it to Komodo NP booking platform support at siora.id for force majeure refund consideration. Document everything within 48 hours of the cancellation.

What if I arrive without a Komodo NP booking platform ticket?

You will not be allowed to enter Komodo National Park without a valid Komodo NP booking platform QR code. Rangers at every jetty verify QR codes against the live database. If you arrive without one, you can attempt to book on-the-spot via your phone, but inventory often does not allow same-day bookings during peak season.

What if Komodo NP booking platform is down on my booking day?

If the Komodo NP booking platform platform is offline during your scheduled visit, your existing QR code remains valid; rangers can manually verify against offline backup logs. If you have not yet booked and the platform is down, contact our team for emergency booking assistance via operator channels.

Where do I file a complaint?

File complaints with BTNK directly through the support form at siora.id or visit the BTNK office in Labuan Bajo near the harbor. For travel industry complaints about specific operators, contact ASITA. komodonationalparkticket.com is not authorized to receive or process formal complaints on behalf of BTNK.
